EDUCATIONAL MILESTONES

Mode of Education

While imparting education to the students, it is kept in mind that The students must be trained in such a way that they may develop love for their religion While asking to become good citizens of the country.

STAGE (INTRODUCTORY PHASE)
The Elementary education (Five years) is from class I To Class V. In these classes, the students get education Nazrah Qur'an, Dinyat, Urdu, Hindi, English and the Books prescribed under the Bihar Government syllabus.
Note : English Education begins from class I itself.

STAGE II (PRIMARY PHASE)
3 YEARS FOR CLASS VI TO VIII : In these classes apart from education in Islamic Theology, Arabic and Persian, Books prescribed under Bihar Government Syllabus are Also Taught.

STAGE III (HIGHER SECONDARY PHASE)
2 YEARS CLASS IX TO X : Under this phase, education is for two years from Class (IX) to Class (X). In these Classes besides education of Islamic theology and Arabic , Bihar Government Syllabus Courses are also taught for appearing in Matriculation Examination under B.S.S.E.B. (Bihar State Secondary Education Boards).

G.M.O. URDU HIGH SCHOOL
Which had been established in 1981, has got the permission to fill up the Matric Examination forms by the Government (without finance) from 2011.

DISTANCE EDUCATION
The centre for Distance Education approved by Aligarh Muslim University has been established in the Gaya Muslim Orphanage since 2007.
The admission is going on of Xith,XIIth, B.A part I, II, III, and Library Science (BLIS) for the session of 2020-21.
Note All the educational departments are in the campus of the orphanage. So they need not go to any where else.

DEPARTMENT OF THE HOLY QUR'AN MEMORIZATION
Apart from The Holy Qur'an Memorization, modern education is also imparted. After The morning salat (Nemaz-e-Fair), Lessons in Holy Qur'an (Nazra and Memorization) is imparted. While education in Arabic and Islamic Theologies are imparted in the class rooms.

DEPARTMENT FOR GIRLS’EDUCATION
Girls are also taught here along with the boys only upto class V. However education for higher class for them has now been stopped. The reason that Cherki and its Surroundings have separate institutions for the education of the girls.

VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL EDUCATION
In the present age which is scientifically and technologically advanced, apart from the academic education, it is also very important that one is provided with sound Professional/ vocational/Technical education so that students in the future may find for themselves a gainful employment on the land on which the former Governor of Bihar, Dr. Akhlaqur Rahman Kidwai (Dr. A.R. kidwai) had already laid the foundation stone for the construction of a building on the 16 acres land (adjoining the Orphanage) for G.M.O (T.T.I) Technical Training Institute based on the (I.T.I) model. Now the double storeyed building of Enayeth (I.T.I) Industrial Training Institute has been constructed.
Note The Educational process has been started since 2018 with two trades. (1) Electrician, And (2) Fitter.

HALLS OF RESIDENCE (BOARDING/HOSTEL)

There are six hostels within its campus . Both orphan and non-Orphan Students reside and have their food together and as such no discrimination whatsoever is made between them in any way. A beautiful spectacle of Islamic teaching of unity, equality and uniformity. The students are kept in different halls of the six boarding houses (Hostels) according to their age and class.
Those six hostels are named as:-

  1. ALLAMA IQBAL HOSTEL.
  2. ALLAMA SHIBLI HOSTEL.
  3. SYED MOHD.NAZIR HUSSAIN HOSTEL.
  4. SYED MD. UMAR DRAZ HOSTEL.
  5. DR. ABUL KHAIR HOSTEL.
  6. KHWAJA GHEYASUDDIN HOSTEL.

At present nearly one hundred fifty (150) students reside in the hostel. The School and hostels are located with in the same campus. The students therefore are not required to move hither and thither. Along with education, proper training is also provided to the students in a proper environment.

SCHOOL UNIFROM
All the students (Boys and Girls ) are compulsorily required to wear their uniform (Sky colour Kurta and White Pyjamas and black Rampuri Cap. In winter season black Muffler and deep green sweater) During the School Hours.

Maulana Mohmmad Ali Jauhar Academy
(LIBRARY)

In the Memory of Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar. He was a great leader of Indias’ freedom struggle and a Prideworthy great leader of Islamic world. The Muslim world has not born any other great poet like Allama Iqbal and any other great leader like Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar. He delivered the speech in front of the emperor of Britania. He said in the round Table Conference in London that he would not return to his motherland until he gets the decree of freedom or two yards of land for the grave”. Although he did not get the freedom of the country but he got the two yards of land for his grave. The prime Islamic Judiciary Islamic Scholar of Bait-ul-Muqaddas had said he was the great leader of the whole Islamic World. So let him be buried here. Therefore, he was buried in Bait-ul-Moqaddas. The Englishmen used to send his newspaper “The Comrade” to Britania as gift. Before reading the newspaper, the Englishmen used to keep the Dictionary beside them. Then they used to read the newspaper. This was the position of his English language and Literature.
It houses several books, Explanations of the Qur’an (Tafseer-e-Qur’an), Hadees, Fiqah, History, Biography, Auto biography, Islamic Book, Urdu, Hindi and English Literature, books on science, Arabic and Islamic Books etc.
Different types of Magazines, Monthly, Quarterly, Half Yearly and yearly Journals.

ALLAMA SYED SULAIMAN NADVI READING ROOM

In the memory of Allama Syed Sulaiman Nadvi. He was a famous historian, biographer, prideworthy Islamic scholar and author of great level. He had compiled many prideworthy books i.e. seerat-un-Nabi (Life history of prophet Muhammad) Volume I to Vii (From which the Arabic Library is empty), Khutbaat-e-Madras (Lectures on the prophet), the shipping of the Arabians, the Biography of Omar Khayyam, the history of Arz-ul-Qur’an, the Biography of Allama Shibli Numani and the life history of Hazrat Aisha Siddiqua etc.
It houses different types of weekly, monthly, Quarterly, six monthly and yearly magazines and journals of Hindi, English, Urdu and Arabic. The daily newspapers of Urdu, Hindi and English etc.
Remember It is allowed for staffs, students and other persons to read sitting in (1) Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Academy and (2) Allama Syed Sulaiman Nadvi Reading Room in the library hour.(Time).

BOOK BANK (KUTUB KHANA)
There is also a Book Bank in the Institution from where the orphan students are provided with their Course (School) books free of cost.

CHILDREN STATIONERY SHOP
There is a stationery shop for children within the campus of the institution which Is named as "Apna Bazar" from where the Students can buy books, copies (Exercise Books) etc.

CHILDREN's OWN BANK
There is also a bank for children within the campus of the institution from where The children have been provided pass books to deposit and withdraw their money as per their wish and requirement.

DR.ABUL KHAIR ILAJ GHAR (SICK ROOM)
This is a three bedded sick room within the Institution's Campus. The children Who are Seriously ill are kept there and provided with the required medical attention. Local doctors and when required Doctor from Gaya town are also called to treat them.
Note Dr.Abul Khair after whom the hospital has been named was a great Philanthropist, Benefactor and patron of The Gaya Muslim Orphanage. When any Orphan boy fell seriously ill, he used to bring his car and take the student along with him to Gaya and treat him free of cost.

KAFALA SCHEME (SPONSORSHIP)
Under this scheme you can bear the expenditure of an orphan boy which is Approximately Rs.20,000/- Yearly Even you can be a member of this scheme giving the Annual Expenditure of an orphan boy, join in this good deed.

FREESHIP / HALF FREESHIP
Non-orphan students of G.M.O. Urdu High School and G.M.O. Urdu Middle school Who can not bear Their own expenses are granted half freeship or full freeship. This Freeship is for the entire acedemic session. If their performance and behaviour is found not Satisfactory, the freeship may be cancelled. Half or full freeship is Granted According or their Guardian's income.

STUDENT'S AID FUND
In the orphanage's school a meagre amount is taken from the paying students at The time of admission. Out of this fund needy students of the orphanage school are Provided financial assistance based on requirement and extra ordinary performance of the Students.

Enayeth Museum

Here, in the museum, the things related to the founder of the Orphanage and mostly the things of that age have been collected e.g. the antique letters of the Founder of the Orphanage in Urdu and English (From 1916 to 1956) , Printed Annual Report (From 1936 to 1956), The Pamphlets of the two new orphanages i.e. The Industrial Orphanage of Muslim League and waheediya Orphanage, the letter of 1936 to establish a Girls' Orphanage, the diagram of the mosque Before the Construction(1948), the application of the teacher and Its reply to 1935 Fatwas (The Judgement according to the Islamic Rule), The Pamphlets of againstors, the post card , the reply of fatwas by Emarat shariah and the letter the written reply in the court, written statement case no.34, 1942 A.D. Claimer (Muddaee), Sheikh Md. Haneef Versus Enayeth Khan, the Founder of the Gaya Muslim Orphanage. The Letter The Invitation, Card for the Golden Jubilee and Platinum Jubilee and its reply and the messages by the Dignitaries etc. The Orphanage Annual Function Invitation Card of the Celebration of 1935 printed in English' the Farewell (Fire Brigade Office, Calcutta) Card on the Occasion of the Retirement Day (1943) of the Founder of The Gaya Muslim Orphanage, The Pictures of the teachers and the Dignitaries of old age i.e. The pictures of the builders of the orphanage the original & Photocopy of the hand-Written Qur'an, and the old picture of the Orphanage's. Founder's Wooden bed (Chauki), Easy Chair and the Chair etc. are present only in the Enayeth Museum, of the Gaya Muslim Girls' Orphanage, Kolowna.

FOUNDATION DAY
Every year in the month of October, The Gaya Muslim Orphanage celebrates with great fanfare its foundation anniversary. It was in the month of (October) that the Orphanage established. The foundation Day Anniversary is celebrated in the two Phases . The half of the celebration is devoted to Jalsa-e-Seerat-un-Nabi, While in the Second half various dignitaries, from the Government (State/Central) District Administration and reputed social Personalities are invited. The Second half of the Celebration is for “the foundation day” programme.

STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION
There is a Students' Society. The students hold various types of competition i.e.Essay and Debating etc. amongst themselves every Thursday. The students select their own office bearers for the society. They also hold studying session for Various Programmes in Urdu,English, Hindi, Arabic and Persian, Under the Guidance of their Respective teachers.

EDUCATIONAL WEEK
Educational week is observed every year.It is a Special Week in which various Sports competition, Essay competition, Debating Competition, General Knowledge Quiz, Cultural Programmes, Children's Poetry contest, Staging of Dramas etc. are held and the Children are awarded with prizes at the hands of prominent dignitaries.

INFORMAL PROGRAMMES
Sometimes informal Programmes are also held in the institution with the sudden Arrival of a Visiting dignitary. In such Programmes firstly the students present their own Short Programmes and then they are addressed by the visiting dignitary.

BOY SCOUTS
The Institution has a separate section of boy scouts named as SHAHEEN. In this Almost all the students take part. the students are provided with scout Training but because of the lack of resources they are not being trained fully.

PLAYGROUND
There is a big Play ground Adjoining the Institution Area. The students take part in Football, Volley ball , Cricket etc. The Play starts Just after (Salaat-e-Asr) and goes on before Salaat-e-Maghrib.

OLD BOYS' ASSOCIATION
There is also an old boys' association for those students who have already left the Institution after completing their studies. This association is almost defunct now as activity is not being taken by its alumni.
The old Students must remember these words :

"Khoon de kar badhayenge shaane wafa.
Mader-e-ilm woh hain ,tere lal hain hum"

(We shall Give our blood and spread its fame
It is our alma Mater And we are its Alumni)


DEPARTMENT OF BUILDIND CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT
This is the department which undertakes the construction of new buildings and repair and maintenance of the old ones.

DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION AND PUBLICITY
This is the department which informs the general people and well wishers of The Ongoing development activities in and around the institution. This can be Observed and assessed with naked eyes by visiting the Orphanage.

ACCOUNTS
The Accounts of "The Gaya Muslim Orphanage" are audited every year by a Chartered Accountant. However, It is to be noted that amounts received through Zakaat, are only spent on Orphans to meet their entire expenditure.
